I’ve added a group on flickr so everyone can upload their digital photos they take at the wedding. I’ve tried to make it as simple as possible but if I can make it easier please let me know.

We’ll be leaving cards on all the tables at the wedding with instructions on how to upload your pics to flickr but essentially here’s the process:

1.) Go to flickr and sign up for an account if you don’t have one.
2.) Go to http://flickr.com/groups/therumplers/ and click Join this group.
3.) Upload your photos.
4.) Click the Organize tab on the top of the site.
5.) Click the Groups tab within the Organizr.
6.) Select the photos you want to add to the group.
7.) Drag them onto the group icon.
8.) That’s It!!

To view a slideshow of the images everyone has added just click here!!

Wedding Pics

Dear Diary,

What a great weekend!!  We got a TON done over the past few days.  Wait, I think I should start at the beginning (or end, of Friday that is).

So, Friday was our date night, as usual.  And let me tell you, it was strange!  I met Andy at Stevie’s after work for a bike ride out by Grapevine Lake, which was really fun.  Then we went to Central Market to pick up some yummy food, and I invited Andy over to dinner (which was funny, inviting Andy to his own house for dinner!).  Well, before we knew it, one bottle of wine turned into 3… and I don’t remember much after that (just kidding!).  So that killed all of Friday and a good chunk of Saturday, considering neither of us got out of bed until close to 1!  Which is when the wedding errands began.

So you remember being a little kid, when you would go to the grocery store with your parents and beg them to let you get something off the check out isle on the way out?  (Which is strategically placed at eye level to lure kids, I’m sure, which is what makes it oh so cruel with the inevitable parental answer to the PLEEASE MOMMMM question is no…)  Well let me tell you, putting a candy bar in at the wedding was total payback!!  We had an absolute blast wandering around Sams putting these massive bags of candy in the cart.  I’m pretty sure the checkout lady thought we were high, though.  Sugar high, maybe!

So then today I spent the whole morning today cleaning, cleaning, cleaning.  Sounds fun, right?  Well, I did learn one very important thing…  I have a much greater appreciation for Andy and the things he helps out with around here after today’s cleaning frenzy.  I usually ship a few things off on him that I really hate doing (shower cleaning and trash duty, mostly).  Well, no Andy meant I was stuck with the scrub brush… yuck.  Soap scum makes me want to throw up.  So after powering through that fun little chore, I decided to show Andy some love, and treat myself, by making a little trip to Victoria’s Secret to pick up a few goodies for the honeymoon.  :)   Enough Said.

After that and a trip by my parents’ to say hey, we had a wonderful dinner (as always) at the Rumplers’.  Andy’s dad did give a very sweet toast to the two of us… I got teary!  Sitting there, at dinner, I really had this moment of just pure happiness.  I can’t believe that in just a few days, I’m going to be Mrs. Andy Rumpler!  I think every second closer we get to Saturday, my smile gets a little bigger.  I’m not kidding… I think my cheeks are starting to hurt already!  Just 5 days and a few hours to go…

Wedding Week Countdown!

Author: amy | Filed under: Uncategorized

And so it begins. I headed over to my parents this morning to help them put together their new TV Stand. They’re having part of the storage room upstairs turned into a media room. It’s pretty intense, the most construction I’ve ever seen completed in what feels like a 3 week period. They’re just waiting on the TV and furniture to be delivered. We were so charged up about our trip to the candy store yesterday that we went ahead and put together a mock-up of the candy bar. We put plastic wrap over the tops of all the containers and Liddy and Brandy agreed to set the bar up at the Villa Saturday.IMG_1219 Amy went over to her parents to put together the favors for the reception. They came out awesome and people are really gonna like them (and if you don’t… Well… You know) At dinner my Dad gave a nice toast saying that a week from today they’ll finally have a redhead in the family. It was really nice since I’ve always known that they were disappointed in their boys and the decided lack of redhairedness we all demonstrate. Back to work tomorrow but just two days worth. Then it’s vacation time for me. That’s when I’ll REALLY start working.

Home Stretch – Part 4

7 days to go. I missed posting yesterday because… Well because I had too much to drink and forgot. Sue me. Anyway, we got a lot done over the past few days. I confirmed the reservations for our Wedding night. We’re staying at the Grand Hyatt DFW it’s right there in the D Terminal at DFW so we can get up and jump on the plane to Mexico first thing Sunday morning.

I also booked the Rolls Royce from the Villa to take us to the hotel after the wedding. It’s gonna be great!!

Yesterday Amy and I went with her mom out to Sam’s and Grapevine Mills to buy a crap-load of candy for the candy bar. We bought about 50 lbs of candy and I was doing weird back-flips from candy cravings. We also ran by Hobby Lobby and got a couple picture frames for her grandparent’s wedding pictures.

We closed out the day by playing Trumpet at her parents house with her cousins Alec and Natalie. As always I dominated. There’s something special about humiliating 13 year old children in a game that makes me feel special. I’m OK with that.

Home Stretch – Part 3

Author: andy | Filed under: Uncategorized

After work today I went back to our house for the first time in 2 days. It was a weird feeling since I knew I wasn’t going to get to sleep there. We had intended to go work out and tan but due to my positive influence we wound up taking an hour long nap and going out to eat at Simply Burgers.

Simply Burgers is the new burger joint they just opened up around the corner from our house. It was TERRIBLE. Greasy burgers and soggy fries. Very disappointing. Amy made the point that it makes you feel even worse when you cheat on a diet if the payoff’s not there. The calories at this place were definitely not worth it.

Wedding Stuff accomplished today:

Got my hair cut (Yeah it’s early but I wanted to give it a few extra days in case the lady butchered me) I went to Sport Clips by my work. What a genius idea for $22 you get a haircut, shampoo, hot towel treatment and a neck massage. It was like a day at the spa for me. Well worth the extra $4 compared to Pro Cuts. Plus I don’t have to talk to the lady who’s cutting my hair since I can pretend to be enamored with the highlight reel of The Jordan era Bulls’ 3-pete.

We were going to watch The Office when we got back from tanning but The stupid Tivo taped Grey’s Anatomy instead. Come on Tivo! Pull your head out! So instead I got to hit the road for the long lonely drive back to Stevie’s with my Office Jones unrequited. Oh well, I guess the best things come to those who wait.

Home Stretch – Part 2

Okay, my turn. :)   So today is May 1st, which means we have 9 days left until W Day!  I can’t  believe we’re in single digits, finally!  Let me tell you, it can’t come fast enough.  For several reasons:

a) I am SO READY to take a real vacation and get out of town for a few days with my HUSBAND! Mexico, here we come…
b) Work is slowing down since we only have a few days left until we’re both off, so now I’m having to find things to keep occupied, and the days are dragging by!!
c) As Andy said last night, he’s flown the coop till after the wedding and I never realized how BORING it is when the only thing you have to talk to is a 60 lb. slobbering baby of a bulldog who thinks it’s fun to lick your toes at 2 am (she’s NOT sleeping with me anymore! Who am I kidding, sure she is… it gets lonely!).
d) W day means the end of the Bridal Bootcamp diet- Woo hoo!  Enchiladas, queso, pizza, burgers, fries… my how I’ve missed you!  I’m coming back from Mexico 10 lbs. heavier, at least!

As Andy also said, we spent a good chunk of last night watching the American Idol kickoff show, and I have a few things to add:

Brooke White needs to get punched in the face.  Every time I see her pouting and crying about whatever she has to cry about, I just want to say, “Now Brooke, if you’d just been punched in the face, Simon telling you that your singing is like a bad kareoke rendition wouldn’t be so bad, would it?”  It’s like when your eye hurts and someone offers to stomp on your foot so you forget about your eye.  Geez man, get some perspective.  Am I right?

Second, Neil Diamond still rocks, I don’t care what you say.  There’s a man who has to be 132 years old, who still got up on that stage and did his thing.  So maybe he needs to lay off the dancing.  I mean, he could break a hip.  But I say you keep on rockin’ Neil.  And I’ll keep singing Sweet Caroline at the top of my lungs every time it comes on in the bar, right along with ya.

Speaking of bars, Saturday night was my bachelorette party. :)   Yes, there was a LOT of alcohol involved.  Jello shots… other shots… beer… rum… I lost count.  We had a great time though, hanging out with the girls.  After barhopping in downtown FW, we spent the night at some hotel hotel in the stockyards. Somewhere on myspace there are pictures floating around of me with my classic drunk girl huge smile and busted up knee sometime toward 2 am.  Oh, didn’t I tell you? In classic Amy fashion, I took a tumble in the street late, late Saturday night.  The funny thing is, I think that’s the one thing Andy said not to do: “Don’t fall on your face!”  Well, my face was saved, thankfully, but my knees… I really do look like a 5 year old who fell off her bike.  Fun times!

Alright dear diary, I think I should get back to work now.  I’m probably supposed to be doing… something.  I’ll see Andy tonight at dinner, and we’ll send more updates later- full of one-liners from tonight’s Office showing, no doubt!

Until then… don’t forget to have your pet spayed or neutered!  Goodbye everybody. Here comes the Bride...
